yes that’s the story Felder tells. If you search Don Felder you’ll find some interesting things. You’ll find what, I believe to be, the most musically perfert version with ALL the the original members at their hall of fame induction. Again, in my opinion, with all its aseptic perfection it’s still not as good as this raw, 70’s, coked-up, “hang on to that wine” version.

I havent time to read all the coments but if not for Don Felder there would be no Hotel California. He was the man who came up with the chord progression. Then the master lyricists wrote the song. End of story….
